As a third generation restaurateur and an ardent supporter of the environment, Chef Rodney Einhorn is passionate about true flavors, purity of product and the support of sustainable farming. After graduating from The Culinary Institute of America, Chef Rodney perfected his skills at Le Cirque 2000 and Le Bec-Fin before returning home to Virginia Beach to open Terrapin in 2006. Since its inception, Chef Rodney has wowed diners with a contemporary take on traditional regional cuisine based on his refreshingly simple philosophy - keep it local, fresh and sustainable. His unwavering commitment to these ideals have garnered him national acclaim including an invitation to cook at the James Beard House in New York and the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award every year since 2007.

Located in the north end of Virginia Beach, just a short walk from the community's famous boardwalk, Terrapin offers an intimate dining experience showcasing Chef Rodney Einhorn's award-winning contemporary American Cuisine and creative use of seasonal farm-fresh ingredients. Terrapin's warm and elegant dining room seats fifty guests and the striking Zebra Wood bar, which features a view of the action in the open kitchen, offers the full dinner menu as well. In addition, comfortable outdoor dining is available seasonally on Terrapin's covered Terrace.
